Patmos

 

It is an island with unique beauty and esthetic. Patmos is the island of the Apocalypse or “Jerusalem” of the Aegean. According to the religion Patmos is the place where Saint John was exiled in 95AD and wrote the Apocalypse the last book of the Revelation. The island has been included in UNESKOs Monuments of World Heritage since 1999 thanks to “Chora”, the historical center, the Abbey of Saint Ioannis the Theologian and the Cavern of Revelation. Patmos is a high end island with tons of positive energy. Every corner of the island offers serenity and tranquility to every visitor. For that reason is the perfect choice for your vacations.

 

SIGHTS

 

  • The monastery of Saint John Theologian standing like a crown resembling a byzantine castle of the highest top of Chora.
  • The Holy Cave of the Apocalypse. In the 95AD John the Evangelist was exiled to Patmos. In the cave where he stayed, he wrote the Apocalypse.
  • Chora is the capital of the island with unique architecture. It’s located 3km away from the port (Skala). There are mansions date back at the 15th century and provide the village with a special ambience.
